Statement of Faith

The Word of God:  The entire Bible is the inspired Word of God, infallible and God-breathed, inerrant in its original writings, counsels, and authoritative in it’s commandments for faith and the standard of living.  It is complete and God’s final revelation to man.  (II Tim. 3:16-17)

The Trinity:   There is one God eternally existing in three persons- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  Each of the three persons are co-equal, co-eternal, co-existent and unchanging, sharing the same attributes and perfections of the one true God. (Deut. 6:4)

God the Father:   God the Father is eternal, infinite, perfect in judgment and holiness. He exists as purely spirit and is personal and cares for man.  He declares righteous all those who put their faith in Jesus Christ, saving them from their sins and adopting them as sons of God. (John 4:24,  Rom. 8:15-17, 33)

Jesus Christ:  The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, without ceasing to be fully God, became fully man except without sin, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.  He alone paid the penalty for man’s sin through His substitutionary death on the cross and His subsequent visible and bodily resurrection.  He then ascended  into heaven and now continually intercedes for His people.  He will return personally for His redeemed ones and then will subsequently return to earth with His Saints to establish His millennial kingdom.  (John 1:1-2, 14, 10:30; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:6-11; Heb. 1:3; I John 5:20; II Cor. 5:21, 13:4; I Peter 2:21-23; Acts 1:11)

The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.  He regenerates and indwells all believers and sanctifies them, giving guidance for Christian living and spiritual gifts.  He empowers them and intercedes on their behalf. (John 16:8-11; I Cor. 12:12-14; Rom. 8:9; Eph. 5:18; Titus 3:5-7)

Salvation:  Man was created in the image of God, but through Adam fell and inherited a sinful nature.  All Men are born sinners and in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His Holy character, both by nature and act, and are incapable of saving themselves.  They are alienated from God and under His wrath and just condemnation.   Through Christ’s sacrificial death, they can be justified and saved through faith in Him.  Salvation is a free gift bestowed by God, on those who believe and trust in Jesus Christ.   It must be responded to by individual faith alone, not trusting in any personal works whatsoever, having the righteousness of Christ imputed to us.  There will be a bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment ad everlasting punishment.  (Rom. 3:22-26, 5:12; Eph. 2:1-10; John 5:28-29)
